What a great idea! How about posting the issues being considered by the NASW KY Committees to see how our opinions compare to those of our profession’s representatives?

    • One of the main things for us that happened in the General Assembly this year was about child deaths. It was a big topic during first part of session then went away with the budget and redistricting. One of the biggest legislative pieces that would have affected social workers was making the Cabinet only hire frontline workers with a social work educational background and also be licensed by the Kentucky Board of Social Work started in 2015 I believe.
By the way Rep. Susan Westrom is doing a great job of advocating for social workers. But, she can’t do it alone.

      • And I have to say that being in a field placement with the NASW KY. the committee and especially Jordan Wildermuth do a great job in follow the standards that the main NASW has established on social issues.
